2000 Canadian Open SP
Interviewer: Dei Lynam (DL)
DL: People, I don't think, are surprised that you've improved but at how quickly you've improved to be the 5th best skater in the world. Have you exceeded your own expectations?
Sarah: I don't think I've exceeded my own expectations because my expectation's always been to be the best that I can be and I'm just really happy with my skating and where it's taken me.
DL: You and Robin, game plan heading into nationals? You've got a little time but I'm sure you have a plan.
Sarah: You know, just to go home and work hard and skate the best I can at Nationals and hopefully make the World team again.
DL: You're in second place behind Michelle Kwan right now, which you've been before. But, I watched earlier at practice today and you were watching her. Can you learn anything from watching the way she skates or have you learned?
Sarah: I didn't really watch her on the practice. I just don't want to, we don't want to get in each other's way, you know? And I learn from all the skaters. There are so many great skaters here and it's an honor to be skating with World Champions and Olympic Champions--so it's great.
DL: Good luck the rest of the way.
Sarah: Thank you.
